Stop drawing sprinkler layouts by hand. LBSprinklerDesign reads your architectural DXF, recognises rooms, corridors, columns, beams and atrium openings, classifies every room's NFPA 13 hazard from its name, places sprinklers with the spacing and obstruction rules, draws and sizes the piping, and returns the result as a DXF together with its bill of quantities.
LBSprinklerDesign is an automatic sprinkler design tool for fire engineers and MEP offices. Upload a DXF drawing; the system determines each area's ceiling, hazard class and protection area, places sprinklers to NFPA 13 Chapters 9–11, sizes branch lines, cross mains and the riser from the Chapter 27.5 pipe schedules, and reports the density/area design criteria (Chapter 19) and water demand. Output: a DXF drawn on the original project, an Excel BOQ and a design summary. An EN 12845 rule set will follow.
Architectural DXF input; several floors on one sheet are split automatically
Recognition of rooms, corridors, stairs, shafts, atrium openings, columns and beams
NFPA 13 hazard class from the room name, with per-room overrides
Menus for sprinkler type, K-factor, temperature rating, system type and pipe material
Wall, door, room name, column, beam and opening layers are read; rooms and corridors become closed areas and floors are separated.
Room names are classified as LH, OH1, OH2, EH1 or EH2 following NFPA 13 Chapter 4 and the Annex A examples; circulation takes the building default.
Balanced grid with the protection areas and spacings of Table 10.2.4.2.1; wall distance, small-room rule, 1.8 m minimum, sidewall types and extended-coverage listings.
3 × the dimension for columns, Table 10.2.7.1.2 for beams; deep beams make each bay a separate layout. The beam depth is asked for in the menu.
Branch lines, cross mains and the floor riser are drawn automatically; sizes come from the Chapter 27.5 pipe schedules by sprinkler count, with hangers and fittings counted.
Sprinklers, pipes and sizes are downloaded as a DXF drawn on the original project; an Excel BOQ and the density/area, hose and duration values are reported.
